Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 16, 2026
Overview
Full Page Screenshot (“the Extension”) is a free Chrome extension that captures full-page screenshots of webpages. Your privacy is fundamental to how we build this product.
This policy explains what data the Extension accesses, how it is used, what is stored, and your rights. We believe in transparency — this policy is written in plain language, not legal jargon.
The short version: We don't collect your data. Period. No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking. Everything stays on your device.
Data We Collect
None. Full Page Screenshot does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. We do not use analytics, telemetry, tracking pixels, crash reporters, or any form of data collection whatsoever.
We do not know who installs the Extension, how often you use it, what pages you screenshot, or any other usage information. This is by design, not by accident.
Data That Stays on Your Device
The following data is created and stored locally in your browser using the Chrome Storage API. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party:
- Screenshots — captured images are stored in your browser's local storage until you export or delete them.
- User preferences — your chosen export format, quality settings, filename template, and editor preferences.
- Screenshot history — thumbnails, page titles, URLs, and timestamps for your most recent captures. The history auto-prunes to keep the 10 most recent entries.
- Editor state — annotations, crop settings, and tool selections for the current editing session.
You can delete all stored data at any time by removing the Extension from Chrome or clearing your browser's extension storage through Chrome Settings > Extensions.
Chrome Permissions
The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions, each for a specific purpose:
- activeTab — allows the Extension to capture the currently visible webpage when you click the extension icon. This permission is only active for the tab you explicitly interact with.
- scripting — enables the Extension to inject content scripts that scroll the page, trigger lazy-loaded content, handle sticky headers, dismiss modals and cookie banners, and suppress CSS animations during capture.
- storage — used to save your preferences and screenshot history locally within Chrome's extension storage.
- downloads — allows the Extension to save exported screenshots directly to your Downloads folder when you choose to export.
These permissions represent the minimum required for the Extension to function. No data accessed through these permissions is transmitted to any external server or service.
Third-Party Services
Full Page Screenshot does not integrate with, send data to, or receive data from any third-party services, APIs, or servers. The Extension works entirely offline after installation. There are no external dependencies, CDN resources, or network requests made by the Extension during operation.
Security
Because we don't collect or transmit data, there is no centralized database or server that could be compromised. Your screenshots and preferences exist only in your browser's local storage, protected by Chrome's built-in extension sandboxing and security model.
The Extension is built with Manifest V3, Chrome's latest and most secure extension platform, which enforces stricter security policies including limited permissions, service worker lifecycle management, and content security policies.
Children's Privacy
The Extension does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. Since no data is collected at all, there is no risk of children's data being processed or stored.
Changes to This Policy
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Since the Extension collects no data, meaningful changes to this policy are unlikely. If we ever introduce any form of data collection (which we have no plans to do), we will clearly communicate this change and require explicit consent.
